Thank You.

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

We are approaching the end of the 2008. Looking back at the entire year, I feel pleased with the development of LA YIN business. I have been incredibly lucky to have the support from so many people. I wish to say ‘Thank You’ to all the people who have in various ways supported the kick off of my entrepreneurship journey.

2009 will be another exciting year!

Blue ocean strategy

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Last week I had an inspiring lunch with my dear friend Lesley Pennington. Lesley has successfully built her beautiful business BEMZ in just a few years. She was just back from a great conference where she listened to the author of Blue Ocean Strategy book. We both felt it’s good for us from time to time to look out for new ideas and business strategies despite the challenges of finding time! By end of the lunch, I was convinced the Blue Ocean Strategy will be added on top of Build to Last for my readings during the long haul flight to Shanghai.

Telia Boutiques

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008
I truly enjoy working closely with Telia colleagues at the boutiques in Stockholm. At the boutique on the Norrlandsgatan 2, the talented staff has put up a very tasteful display of the Gabrielle sets and LA YIN USB flash drives. See below.

It was a delicious excitement when I learned later, the display has drawn much attention from the people. It’s great to chat with the boutiques staff. They have their fingers on the customers pules. It’s amazing.

Build to last

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I first read Jim Collin’s ‘Build to last’ many year ago when it was just published. I’ve taken a few things from the reading and have been from time to time reflecting on them. Building a lasting business is like building a clock. I do want LA YIN to be a lasting business just like the cosmetics empire that Estee Lauder built from the scratch with her passion and determination.

I have been buried much into the sales sales and sales, but next week on my way to Shanghai I’ll be reading once again ‘Build to last’ to renew my perspective.
