Latest arrival - a high quality and finely designed pouch for wireless USB modem

I didn’t pay much attention to the ugly or the best average looking wireless USB modems, until a few months ago, a dear colleague from Telia asked me if we could do something to make that averaging looking thing glamorous.

Well, here we are, a finely designed LA YIN pouch to hide the modem inside and prevent the cable cord from falling off the modem.

We wanted the design to have the references to both fashion and modem high tech. So we picked materials representing from the two worlds: fine quality linen which is also a typical Scandinavian fabric, and a special kind of silicon that gives soft and 3D tactile feeling. We also purposefully left a small hole on top corner of the pouch, in case someone wants to attach the pouch to a cord and hang on the back of a notebook so as to get a better signal reception. The combination of the materials and the way how the two stitch together is one of a kind. We had technical challenges to stitch the fabric on the otherwise very fragile silicons. In the end, we together with our material engineers at the factory overcame the challenge. One would never imagine the inexhaustible variations of materials. I’m fascinated about them.

The puches are selling at http://store.la-yin.com for 155SEK including VAT.
