LA YIN goes to Shanghai!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Shanghai has been a very special place for me. It has a mysterious seductive charm. During my early university days, I knew intimately well the streets where one could find stylish outfits, shoes and accessories. To many Chinese then, Shanghai stood for fine things. Today it is still the capital of style and fine living.

It is an obvious place where I want LA YIN to be present. If compared to Beijing people, Shanghai consumers are far more complex. After much observation and learning, we are finally there to offer LA YIN products to stylish and demanding Shanghai customers! How cool!

Build to last

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I first read Jim Collin’s ‘Build to last’ many year ago when it was just published. I’ve taken a few things from the reading and have been from time to time reflecting on them. Building a lasting business is like building a clock. I do want LA YIN to be a lasting business just like the cosmetics empire that Estee Lauder built from the scratch with her passion and determination.

I have been buried much into the sales sales and sales, but next week on my way to Shanghai I’ll be reading once again ‘Build to last’ to renew my perspective.

What comes the next?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Many have been asking me since our launch in June 08, so what’s the next?

The next thing will be coming to public soon, hopefully before Christmas. You can contact me if you wish to have some presents that are never seen before.

We’ll have a new print design for our computer sleeves. And we’ll extend the sleeve to different PCs.

Here is the next print design: email me at store@la-yin.com if you want to secure one before Xmas.

Lunch with Linda

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Our paths first crossed in the virtual space when Linda Skugge praised LA YIN USB stick in her blog shortly after the LA YIN launch. It gave a very nice boost in spreading the message about LA YIN the new comer.

Last week, we finally met for real. It was a good meeting of two hard working mother entrepreneurs comparing notes. It was not long ago she started her own niche publishing company Vulkan.

It was amazing that we went through very different journeys and now we are at the similar point of a journey to build up a business, or more precisely to realize dreams.

Linda told me she launched a campaign to encourage teenages to write. I think that’s a great idea.

We are selling via Apple premium resellers

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

I love the few Apple products that I own, they are carefully designed and very stylish. They are very easy to use. I enjoy the entire experience surrounding them! Many Apple premium reseller stores seem to live up to this ideal image, in particular the MacForum store in Gothenburg, Sweden. The display and decor are very modern and stylish. I was welcomed by a very pleasant woman sale person when I first visited their main store. The decision makers there albeit men resonated well with LA YIN spirits, they wanted very much to offer products that are genuinely designed for women.

Our product will be available at MacForum store in Gothenburg from sometime this week.

My dear Gothenburg panel members were wondering when I’d go and have a launch party there. It might be soon!! I’ll keep everyone posted.
